Why we are called The Wandering Mutt Company...

We know what you are thinking… Why WANDERING mutt? Well, we are so glad you asked...

Other than the fact that it has a nice ring to it, it is inspired from the fact that dogs are genetically natural wanderers. 

Our beloved canines descend from and are closely related to the wolf. Wolves travel, hunt, and live-in packs. They are almost always on the move, doing what they need to do to survive in the rugged wild. 

Just because our pups are domestic and don’t reside in the wild, this does not mean that they don’t need or want to walk, especially with their pack, aka you.

Being beyond excited about going for a walk is probably the most universal behaviour among domestic dogs. We all know that moment when we reach for that leash, put on our socks, lace up our shoes or do anything that suggests even the remote possibility that we are going for a walk, our dogs are absolutely thrilled.

… And this is where the name came from, we want to inspire and encourage this joy for all dogs everywhere. The joy to go outside, to get out and to wander! No matter how young or old, big or small, athletic or physically challenged, all dogs deserve this kind of joy regularly. 

The wandering may look a little different for every dog, but that’s okay, because it is making that dog’s world a better place! … and you are your dog’s world… so make it the absolutely best world it can be!!
